The original Rehabilitation Engineering was founded by Jeff Fredrick MS CPO in 1981. Mr. Fredrick completed the Orthotic Certification Program at Shelby State in 1981 and then set out in his own practice with a new philosophy towards patient care. He received his Prosthetic Certification at Northwestern University, Chicago.
Over the years Mr. Fredrick built a thriving practice with the philosophy of “patient care first” serving the Tallahassee, Thomasville and Valdosta communities.
Mr. Fredrick’s interests center on international humanitarian aid. He founded the Adopt-a-Village Missions program, and in 1986, he began a full-range medical and rehabilitative services clinic in the village of Dumay, Haiti. From 1994-1996, he served as the Director of Orthopedic Programs for the Vietnam Veterans of America Foundation (VVAF). His responsibilities included writing and facilitating a grant in Hanoi, Vietnam to implement the country’s first thermoplastic bracing program. In 1997 he co-founded COSHARE (Collection of Surgical, Health and Rehabilitation Equipment), which has shipped medical supplies to the Ukraine, Vietnam, Cambodia, Jamaica, Haiti, and Bosnia.
